Orthopedics and Traumatology
About Branch
The Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology examines congenital and acquired diseases in the musculoskeletal system in cooperation and cooperation with all departments in our hospital, diagnoses them by making use of the wide possibilities of technology, and plans and applies the most appropriate medical and surgical treatment to the patients at a scientific level. Patients are informed in detail about their treatment plans by our specialist doctors. Orthopedics and Traumatology is one of the most rapidly developing, changing and even increasing branches in the light of technology and scientific advances.
Orthopedics aims to obtain healthy and healthy individuals freed from motion system diseases, Traumatology aims to restore the old functions of the injured and damaged motion system elements and to save the life of the injured.
Our Movement System Skeleton (bones and joints) consists of the Spine and upper extremities (shoulder - arm - forearm - hand) connected to it via the Thoracic Cage at the top and lower extremities (Hip - leg - calf - foot) connected to it via the Pelvis (pelvis) below. occurs. The neck region of the spine carries our head. It carries the thoracic cage and upper extremities, which contain the lungs, heart, esophagus and great vessels in the dorsal region. The waist and coccyx region contains and carries the organs and systems in the abdomen together with the pelvis. It transmits all these loads on the spine to the ground through the lower extremities.
Muscles, which are the other important elements of the Movement System, start by sticking to the protruding parts of the bones in the skeleton or the surfaces specially formed for them, and they adhere to a bone surface in the same way by traversing at least one or sometimes two joints. In order to provide different movements in the joints, there are muscle groups that provide the same effect and muscle groups that provide the opposite effect. The contractions of the Brain and Spinal Cord are controlled by peripheral nerves. The main control mechanisms are provided by the Brain. Involuntary contractions occur if the brain's control is somehow lost and the spinal cord takes over.
The Movement System is fed by a very dense vascular network. Arteries bring arterial blood to the extremities and Veins carry venous blood. Bones are also equipped with a rich vascular network. The bones in our body are living tissues and they are constantly being destroyed and rebuilt, renewing themselves. But we do not feel it. It also has very important functions in the production of blood cells and in the metabolism of Calcium and Phosphorus.
Movement System has the ability to move normally without pain. Persistent pain during movements or at rest is a pathological condition. Difficulty in movements or limitation of movement with pain is also a symptom of the disease. Continuous sound from the joints and pain along with this sound is also a pathological finding. Apart from these, swelling on the bones and joints, increase in temperature, redness, warmth are other important symptoms. Decreased muscle strength, decreased feeling, numbness, tingling are the signs of nervous dysfunction. The limp may be the result of a disorder of the skeletal, muscular, or nervous system. Thinning (atrophy) of the muscles develops due to unused or underused. Paleness, coldness or bruising in the extremities indicates a pathology of the circulatory system.
Our Orthopedics and Traumatology clinic deals with the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all kinds of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. In our hospital, which has the latest technological equipment in terms of imaging methods and operating room conditions, all conservative and surgical treatment methods in the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology are applied in parallel with the practices and developments in the world.
